City Bar Justice Center Legal Hotline The Legal Hotline offers legal information, advice and referrals to low-income New Yorkers who cannot afford a private attorney or do not have access to legal representation. The Hotline assists nearly 1,000 callers a month on a range of civil legal issues, including matrimonial and family law, housing law, domestic violence, bankruptcy, and debt collection and benefits. The service is bilingual, in English and Spanish, and can handle calls in any language through interpreting services. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at 212.626.7383. 212-626-7383 Monday - Friday: 9:00am to 1:00pm. Brooklyn Bar Association - Volunteer Lawyer's Project The VLP focuses on serving people with special problems in gaining access to the legal system, especially the elderly, persons with disabilities, persons affected by chronic illnesses and victims of domestic violence.
