When dissenting voices and the hard questions about public policy, such as Iraq or women's rights, are not heard, our democracy and freedom are put at risk. For the first time since Roe v. Wade, legislators, instead of doctors, are in control of a woman's health. The Supreme Court's recent Gonzales v. Carhart and Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood rulings do not confine themselves to restricting one rarely-used procedure, but rather dangerously erode women's health protection. Join NOW-NYC and Jennifer Brown, Vice President and Legal Director of Legal Momentum to discuss the implications of the Supreme Court's recent decision to uphold the Federal abortion ban and next steps we can take here in New York.
