The Service Fund of NOW-NYC

The Service Fund is NOW-NYC’s charitable sister organization, delivering educational programs on key women's issues and providing direct services to women.   The Service Fund's Project Access program currently benefits more than 1,000 women per year across the five boroughs of New York City and its surrounding areas. Especially for women in desperate or dangerous situations, such as those facing domestic violence or stalking, The Service Fund is there to help answer that call.

Answering the Call:  The Service Fund Helpline

Our free call-in HELPLINE provides referrals to women to address a host of issues, including employment discrimination, family law, financial help, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and reproductive health, among others. Call us at 212-807-6728 or access our online resources here.

Helping Women Going Through Divorce

Our Divorce, Separation, & Custody Legal Clinic pairs women with experienced family law attorneys twice per month to set them on the right path.  Spanish speaking and/or translation services are available. Our Divorce Financial Clinic, which supplements the legal clinic, is held several times each year with a certified divorce financial planner who specializes in addressing the specific questions of women going through or considering divorce.

Employment Discrimination Legal Clinic

The Service Fund offers an Employment Discrimination Legal Clinic two evenings per month that is conducted by an attorney with longstanding expertise in employment law.  The clinic provides a roadmap through the legal implications of employment discrimination and helps women facing a diverse set of on-the-job discrimination issues, including sexual harassment and pregnancy, gender, or disability discrimination.  The Legal Clinic also helps women properly prepare to file with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and covers the options and legal remedies available to women facing discrimination in the workplace.
