Martha Burk, Director of the Corporate Responsibility Project at the National Council of Women's Organizations, author of Cult of Power-Sex Discrimination in Corporate America, and Money Editor for Ms. Magazine talks about taking on the giants. As the largest employers in the U.S., corporations need to be held accountable for treating their employees fairly. Though women have made many cracks in it, the glass ceiling is still in place and women face a host of obstacles in climbing the corporate ladder- including care-giving and pregnancy discrimination, harassment, and pay inequity. Corporations have the opportunity to set a new agenda and impact millions of workers by instituting policies that forcefully combat discrimination and help advance women in the workplace.
